AMY RICHARDSON
Amy Richardson grew up in idyllic Tasmania, Australia surrounded by a family of musicians, artists, and educators. These influences shaped her career and her mission to make music accessible to all. Holding a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice, Amy is a respected classical Soprano but also celebrated for her contributions to jazz and contemporary music fields. She has spent more than two decades performing and teaching. In 2013, she moved to Sydney with her husband Bass Baritone Christopher Richardson and their three (now adult) children. Amy has worked as a session musician and singer-songwriter, founded award-winning music schools and directed children’s singing classes and community choirs around the country. She currently directs three choirs, performs and freelances as artistic director for community events, while running a private studio from her home. By day, Amy works as Director of Music P-12 in an independent school in Sydney. Amy enjoys poetry, painting, drawing, and exploring the Australian bush. Her compositions often reflect themes of gratitude, healing, and hope, drawing from her approach to life and building on her extensive experience in vocal and choral direction.
